The play of relief is subtle, and the Oblong gives it length. The arches nest into one another, rise a notch with each turn, and the slate blue recedes as the bronze advances.
This division holds the whole piece. Seen from above, the oval reads like a score of arcs. At eye level, only the light resting on the ridges remains.
