Lukan Lounge Chair, Aubergine

Christian Signorel looked at a stag beetle and saw a seat in it. The Lukan lounge chair comes from this shift of perspective: four solid legs that anchor the piece to the floor, rear uprights extended like the beetle's antennae, a back that stands apart. The form holds like a low, round note, set in the room like a sustained chord.

We publish it in solid oak stained walnut, dressed in a cotton velvet stretched by hand by an upholsterer in a workshop in Italy. The upholsterer's work shows in the tension of the velvet over the wood and in the precision of the seams that follow the curve. Four colorways extend the reading, from deep velvet to golden light.
